LOOK at your opponent.
How to regain your loss of composure after getting hit

This may seem very obvious…
But many of you don’t realize how often you catch yourself looking too low or hiding behind your gloves during sparring.
This usually happens when you get hit, you tense up, you start biting on your opponent’s feints and you lose all your rhythm.

Just for reference.
“How do I stop this?”
Step back, LOOK AT YOUR OPPONENT, not down at their feet, not down at their shorts, but at their chest or eyes.
THEN re-evaluate your distance. This can mainly be a psychological hurdle, but once your feet are right, and you know you’re at a safe distance (just out of punching range, not on the other side of the ring), then you can re-focus and think about your next move.
Remember that repetition is the key to perfecting anything in your fighting. Next time you catch yourself dweebing behind your gloves. CHECK YOURSELF.
